ELSA: 'What is Your WHY' with University of Sam Ratulangi

Jakarta, October 11, 2021 - PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa) as a leading company for total solutions and sustainable energy services held the eighth 'Elnusa Leader's Sharing & Action' (ELSA) with University of Sam Ratulangi (UNSRAT) Manado, North Sulawesi (7/ 10) virtually. ELSA is a CSR program that is currently held regularly until the end of the year. This activity is a form of implementation and a tangible manifestation of Elnusa's commitment to CSR activities in the education sector which refers to ISO 26000: Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) goal 4, namely Quality Education. This program also supports the 'Merdeka Belajar' policy which is part of a series of breakthroughs from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) aimed at creating an innovative, flexible learning culture and encouraging an increasingly autonomous learning process in higher education.

The ELSA program this time with the theme "What is your WHY" was attended by 270 participants from students and the general public. The event was opened by Drs. Ronny Gosal, Msi as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni UNSRAT. On behalf of the community, Ronny expressed his sincere gratitude to Elnusa for the opportunity given by UNSRAT to participate in the ELSA program in order to increase the quality of Human Resources (HR) with character. “To enter the real business world, students not only prepare learning theory in class but also have to add practical work directly according to scientific competence. Hopefully in the next academic year there will be collaboration between ELNUSA and UNSRAT to jointly succeed the 'Kampus Merdeka, Merdeka Belajar'," he said.

In the core session, Hera Handayani as Vice President of Business Development Elnusa in her presentation conveyed what is 'Why' in a company. 'Why' is an important element that underlies the goals and basis that is believed by a business entity in running its business so that business continuity can last a long time.

“'Why' provides a way for consumers to identify companies on their own personal level, companies without a clear 'Why', consumers will by default only look at what products and services they sell, 'Why will be the compass for every decision they make. When pursuing something innovative and when you know your goals, companies will do important things that are consistent with their goals,” he explained.
