Jakarta, October 23, 2021 - PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa) together with PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) successfully carried out the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Prototype technology for measuring two-phase flow rates or Two-Phase Flow Meters (16/10). This FAT activity is a follow-up to the collaboration between Elnusa and PGE. Elnusa Fabrication Construction (EFK), a subsidiary of Elnusa, was appointed to manufacture the prototype Two Phase Flow Meter which is the world's first geothermal technology breakthrough. The FAT event was witnessed directly by both parties, namely Elnusa and PGE both online and offline at the EFK Merak Workshop, Cilegon.
Director of Operations of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) said "With this technology created by the nation's children, companies can monitor wells during production and this tool can predict how long the productivity of geothermal wells will take. Hopefully, PGE can find other things that can be developed in the future," added Eko.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Elnusa, Ali Mundakir, said that this collaboration was a real form of synergy between Pertamina Group subsidiaries and became the business potential of Elnusa and PGE. "Hopefully the use of this prototype technology will run smoothly as a test operation in the geothermal field before it can be widely used and go to the commercialization stage. We hope that this tool will be used massively in geothermal operations, both domestically and abroad," he said.

Two-Phase Flow Meter technology is an innovation in the development of real-time data technology to ensure the performance of a geothermal well so as to maintain the quality of the well. This tool is also in the process of patents in six countries, including Iceland, Turkey, the Philippines, and New Zealand. After the success of FAT, the next milestone is the mobilization and installation of prototype primary and secondary elements in the PGE area of Ulubelu. Of course, it will be continued with the Site Acceptance Test (SAT), and Proof of Concept (PoC). In the future, this collaboration is expected to increase the company's ability to develop new and renewable energy potential in Indonesia which can encourage the energy transition in Indonesia.
