Beware of Dengue Fever, Elnusa Performs Fogging in the Neighborhood

Jakarta, December 30, 2022 - As a form of concern and the manifestation of social and environmental responsibility as one of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa) carried out fogging in community settlements in the East Cilandak Village, South Jakarta, on Saturday, (24/12). This is done to anticipate the emergence of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) which is triggered because currently Jakarta and surrounding areas are experiencing high-intensity rainfall.

Fogging is a method of controlling the causative factors of DHF, namely the Aedes Aegypti mosquito. Fogging activities are believed to be effective as an effort to minimize DHF cases or outbreaks in an area, namely when the adult mosquito population is high, fogging quickly reduces the mosquito population.

This initiation activity carried out by Elnusa is a continuous action, from what was previously held in early 2022. The Elnusa Emergency Response (EER) Task Force Team also assisted in the implementation of this fogging. With a total coverage of 490 Heads of Families (KK), this fogging can reach three Neighborhood Units in the East Cilandak area.

Manager of Corporate Communication Elnusa Jayanty Oktavia Maulina, said that this activity was a preventive measure to prevent the emergence of DHF caused by high rainfall in areas that are at risk of flooding.

"DHF prevention needs to be done by Eradicating Mosquito Nests (PSN) 3M Plus, namely draining water reservoirs, closing or tightly burying all water reservoirs, and reusing used waste that has economic value (recycling).

Quoted from the website www.kemkes.go.id Director General of Disease Prevention and Control, Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) RI Maxi Rein Rondonuwu explained, fogging can be carried out at the lowest point to reduce the increase in cases or Extraordinary Events (KLB) during the rainy season. contagion or rainy season.

He also added that DHF prevention and control activities need to be carried out early, and it is hoped that they can be carried out in an integrated, massive, total, sustainable and targeted manner so that DHF cases can be suppressed.

In this activity, Elnusa is working with larva monitoring officers (Jumantik) in the area around Graha Elnusa, continuing to intensify the socialization of dengue prevention in the community.
